Should e-verify be mandated in all 50 states to make it work?

    Yes. If you live in those states that have not made that a demand, you are in direct competition with illegal aliens who work under the table for far less money, and work without many of the benefits companies offer. And if they are not directly working for a company you are involved with, they may be contract hires which absolves the company you are with. It is 99.93% effective and their are appeal processes if they make a mistake. It is very good for getting the monkey off our back. Demand it in your state or they will push you into oblivion. And the Federal Government should be demanding that very thing to protect the American People from this very ugly mess created when Congress refused to fund the law enforcement on the border... that one is going to cost us Schmoos trillions of dollars no matter what happens. But a lot more if we go to amnesty. But they have to get a new I.D. to do that. Walla.. if you live in one of those states.. you need to check your Social almost every day.

Only after an immigration reform is passed. After that well all the working illegal immigrants will be legalized and that wont be a problem any more just a waste of money.

Yes.......that's the only way it will work without causing the states that don't use it to have an influx of illegal workers........Besides....isn't it against the law to hire someone without a Social Security card?....I had to update my file at work.....3 forms of ID were REQUIRED.....They checked ME out ......Seemed like a good move on the companies part if they wanted to operate within the law.

The Feds want to go after employers who hire illegal aliens, but will not make E-verify (98% effective) mandatory. Does anyone else see something wrong with this picture? If E-Verify was mandatory it would stop almost all hiring of illegal aliens and help against using stolen or fake social security numbers. Way to double talk Feds!

Unfortunately, yes. The "honor" system is not working. Too many people are abusing the system with fake documents. I would like that we didn't have to live in a "Big Brother" society but to this we have come. Businesses are dishonest and people are dishonest. The only way to deal with it is to force them to be honest by using E-Verify or some other system. I think E-verify is better than putting a chip in your head or doing eye-scans or fingerprint scans as have been suggested elsewhere. At least e-verify is not evasive to the human body.

Yes we have to do something just saying the system is broken does not resolve the problem a-tall. What is it troubling is people write off E--Verify at the same time all they can offer as a solution is amnesty and this will repair the problem. With document fraud so rampant ,the illegals have made it so any company is being put in the position but to use E--Verify if Obama is serious about cracking down on illegals. I say we must have measures in place to address the problem. Every where -I have go , be it I want to open a charge account, obtain a loan, all ask for GOV issued ID.WE have to have something in place . Advocates cannot claim mind your own business, which is much the same thing happening in Mexico, the routine mind your own business.After 100 years why are Mexicans still needing to sneak into America ? If the past 100 years have not solve illegal immigration why suddenly is Obama claiming he can fix illegal immigration .All we need is reform. This sounds like a broken record, secure the border, how many zillions of times have we been told the border will be secured and time after time after time its still the same old story.After 100 years in all that time American cannot offer border security .I still like this question , does La Raza use e-verify ???????
