How long does it take to get a work visa/permit to the Netherlands ?

  • if I'm hired by a Dutch company who's sponsoring my work visa/permit, how long does it take from the time they apply for me till the day I get the visa and can actually move to the Netherlands ?

    I read from a blog one time of an American who was sponsored & that in all it took 8 months from application to acceptance of the visa Looking at the official site (IND) and specifically in the case of bringing foreign employees to NL, so long as the application is filled in correctly with all the documentation required then the IND must make a decision within 6 months.
