Good and cheap BBQ catering in Singapore?

Do you think having BBQ catering at my wedding is tacky?

  • I’m getting married this summer and my fiance has recommended we do a BBQ buffet for the catering. Sounds a bit tacky, or not?

  • Answer:

"Tacky" has to be the most overused word ever when it comes to weddings. You know what's tacky? Rudeness. Judging others on unimportant things like the food they serve when you should be at their wedding because you love them and you're happy for them. If it's not rude, it's not tacky. And there is nothing rude about asking loved ones to celebrate with you and feeding them when they do.

I don't think it's tacky at all. It's a very popular summer option.

Hi! I dont think its tacky at all! Its actually the way of the future. A good friend of mine co –owns a bbq catering company (www.nyama-hogroast.co.uk ) and they are almost fully booked for this summer, and its mostly for Wedding Receptions (although they do Corporate Catering and Private Parties to). I was talking to him about it again the other day and he was very addiment about the fact that a BBQ just makes your wedding day so much more relaxed. Especially a Summer Wedding. Guests love standing around the bbq having drinks, mingling etc etc. I mena if you think about it, a traditional Wedding is a sit down affair and all you do is hang out at your table and talk to people you already know. How boring! With a bbq wedding (i’ve been to a few) it just seems that guests, and off course the bride and groom, have a much better timem withoiut the pretention of a silver service 6 course bla bla bla. BBQ Wedding Catering , YES!

No, there is nothing tacky about providing a good meal for your guests. As long as there is enough for your guests and the food is of good quality (fresh, cooked properly etc) then it doesn't matter what you serve. As a guest I would have absolutely no problem with a BBQ buffet.

Nope, we had our wedding catered and we served BBQ comfort foods: Chicken, hamburgers, hotdogs, pasta salad, potato salad, corn on the cob, etc. Everybody loved it and said it was so great that we were keeping it laid back. :)

No, and who cares whether it's 'tacky' or not? Do what you like, it's your day.

No! :) I don't think it sounds tacky, but its up to you, obviously. It depends what sort of wedding you want. If you want a big flashy expensive looking one, then I wouldn't do a BBQ. But if you don't, then go for it.

No. You could make it really special.and a wedding to remember by picking quality products to be barbecued. On the other hand if it's a few packs of Iceland burgers then yes it will be tacky. Don't forget to allow for the fact it might rain. Does the best answerer get an invite?

it depends what kind of wedding you're having eg if you're having a very traditional white wedding (church/veil/posh reception venue) then a bbq might be out of place; if you're having a less traditional event (in the warmer months especially) then it could be great!
