Can i get married in the catholic church if i have tattoos?
-
i have one tattoo that i got dedicated to my girlfriend, i got it for her, and i was hearing around that the catholic church will deny you if you have any tattoos? please just a yes or a no, and a simple reason why personally i don't think this should be a problem but this religion is becoming stranger to me so it wouldn't surprise me if this is one of their "rules"

Answer:
YOU CAN GET MARRIED IN A CATHOLIC CHURCH WITH ALL SORTS OF TATTOOS. You must go through a prep process and classes which will ensure you learn a lot about the Catholic faith and this sort of thing can be answered. Catholics don't have anything against tattoos unless they are sacrilegious/offensive or if you had so many as to mutilate your body. Even then - you would need to be remorseful, attend confession and receive forgiveness. Then it would be behind you. The Roman Catholic faith is becoming stranger to you because you are listening to bigots and morons telling you lies and made up garbage. If you learned about the faith you would understand there is nothing to fear. Look at the answers you will see on here just for mentioning the word Catholic. Tons of bigots and uneducated people will just throw insults and nonsense. Nice.

Yeah, there's not actually a part of the process where you strip naked and the priest checks you for ink.
They can't turn you away, and it's unlikely that this tattoo is plastered between your eyebrows or something. If it's possible to conceal it, do so tastefully, but don't lose any sleep over it. Unless you tattooed WORSHIP SATAN across your knuckles I'm pretty sure you're fine....
