Should I ask him to marry me?

Should I ask my girlfriend to marry me at Disney World or Titanic Site?

  • Hi I am trying to plan out the way I am going to ask my girlfriend to marry me. Now i kind of got the answer but i don't know if she meant for engagement or not because, of course, i didn't tell her my reasoning behind asking her but she told me the Titanic site. She loves Disney and has never been to Disney World but she also loves anything that has to do with the Titanic, it just fascinates her. Now my idea would be renting a nice sized boat with a captain and give him the coordinates to the Titanic's crash site. I would tell her that we are just taking a boat trip (something along those lines). When we get to the site we would stop and I'd take her to the best part of the ship and I would tell her to look around and ask do you know exactly where we are? I would then tell her where we are if she hasn't figured it out already and tell her my little speech and get down on one knee and ask her. Disney World would be a little easier but I personally think that a lot of people have gotten married or engaged at Disney. I would ask her to marry me at or near the castle because I always call her Princess because she looks like a real princess and I have called her that even before we got together. So I pretty much know where I'm doing it at but I want to get other opinions.

    Please do the Titanic, in someone elses post they said its depressing and sad, which what happened is but its part of history and its beautiful. Just like 9/11 its tragic and awful, but the way America comes together and The way people show thier love is astounding. You could tell her even though this was a place of pain and sorrow, I brought you here to give it a new beginning of joy and peace which is what I will always give you if you will spend the rest of your life with me... Or something like that. Its so romantic and I would have loved it but I would not have changed how my fiance did. Diney world is awesome but its been done before.

You can't take her Titanic answer into account when she doesn't know it would be where one of the most romantic nights of her life would take place. I love Titanic and it's history too but I wouldn't want to be proposed to there because that is very, very depressing. People died there and still float dead beneath you. Disney world in front of the castle at night all lit up sound so romantic and HAPPY. DO IT THERE. I love art and painting but I wouldn't have wanted my husband to propose in a museum just because I like the things in it.

i found it ironic that the scheme of your plan probably sounds like it would become the ending of a disney movie. the titanic site sounds kind of overly dramatic (with all the details), but when you're in love i guess it doesn't matter haha. disney world would be a good place

Both are great places to propose to a girl but it depends on a girl's preference. Does she LOVE the movie Titanic? or does she LOVE Disney World more. ( Micky and Minnie)? As her BF you must know her likes and dislikes. I personally think Disney World is better. But that's just me.

I would go with the Titanic site because it is more romantic. You will want to make sure she knows that you love her so much that you made sure it is all about her and you said that she is fascinated with the titanic.

Have you actually considered the logistics of getting to the Titanic site? It's hundreds of miles from the east coast, and it would probably require a pretty big boat to get there. Personally, I think it would be a little macabre to propose near a place where so many people lost their lives. Even though a proposal at Disney World might be a little cliche, I think it would be the more fun and romantic option.
