  • Answer:

Does he need a visa to go to the UK normally? My husband and I are from different countries, and we married in my home town. I started the planning 6-7 months earlier like make the date reservations etc, but for the actual wedding planning of course we both had to be there. We came back from Europe to my country 4 months before the wedding, as a turist he can only be there 90 days, as soon as we got there we went to the inmigration office and explained we were getting married in 4 months and as a turist he can only be 3 months, and we explained also we had no intention to live there, we would come back home after the wedding but we needed to be there those 4 months. They didnt give him a visa, since for a visa you need to be working, or studying or have relatives. They just told us to stop by about a week before those 90 days would be over and they would give him an extention. Thats what we did, they made some document saying he has permit to stay in the country 3 more months, and they told us when he would leave the country we needed to go there again to make him another document saying he could leave the country and that he had a permition to stay there all along. If you are in the UK, you can go to the inmigration office in your city and talk about it. Im sure the case is the same. After you are married, take your marriage certificate to be legalized, with the apostille so its valid in the US and then register the marriage there so you and your daugther can get the residence Visa. Hope it helps.
