What is an atheist wedding like?

What were traditional wedding dresses like in Lebanon prior to the modern dress worn today?

• I understand that in most of the world White is worn by brides. Particularly in the Arab world White is almost always worn by brides. However the dress worn today is typically a European Styled White Wedding Dress. What did Lebanese Brides wear before they starting wearing the European style dress? I know many wore those interesting outfits with the conical hat but what else did they wear? I've tried finding out but most Lebanese and Arabs do not know of any other wedding dress that they may have worn other than the White Euro Dress they wear today. However the the person to introduce today's contemporary White Euro Dress was introduced during the marriage of Queen Victoria to her cousin Albert of Saxe- Coburg in 1840 has had more influence on weddings than any other. So today people from the Arab World, most of East Asia, Latin America, etc. all wear the traditional White Wedding Dress. What did the traditional Lebanese bride wear prior to the introduction of the foreign Euro Wedding Dress?

  Just like in Europe and most countries before the idea of the wedding dress- you wore you BEST outfit. Didn't matter on the style or color- just your best. You also wore it to church and other occasions well after that too. If you were rich and had several dresses- then you only wore it again on your anniversaries. You have to figure material was hard to make and not cheap- most people only owned 1 good dress. You were lucky if you dress was silk or cotton... poor people got stuck with wool and felt.
