Whats the best engagement story you've ever heard?

A few years ago I saw a news report of a man who plowed his corn field to say "will you marry me," hire a helicopter to take show his g/f and ask her when the helicopter flew over his message. It took a lot of care because the corn field had to be just right and took a lot of time to set-up. I thought that was a wild story. Honestly, I think every engagement story is sweet.

My own. I was getting a manicure and a woman approached me in the salon and said I'd be perfect for her brother. I had never seen her before. She insisted I take some form of his information so I accepted his email address because I feared I would not get out of the place without agreeing to something. She told me he was a pastry chef and the other ladies joked that if things worked out, he'd be making our wedding cake. I laughed and thought nothing of it, went home and didn't do anything. Next day I figured I had nothing to lose so I wrote to him. He wrote back and for a week we emailed, found we had a lot in common. We agreed to meet for dinner and drinks and the rest is history. Our first date was the best first date I'd ever been on. I was 24, he was 32 at the time. Within the month he asked me to go engagement ring shopping with him and proposed 3 months later. We've now been married over 3 years and together over 5 years. And yes, funny as it seemed at the time, those ladies were right - he did made our wedding cake.
