How to get married in syria as foreigners ? any ideas?

Getting Married with French Guy, getting my Visa, please help me?

  • am engaged to French Guy (I have two nationalities Syrian and Belarussian ) and we can’t apply for marriage yet because he just moved back to France after 8 years living in London. There it was much easier we were visiting each other each two weeks (I am living in Syria now) and there is no problem with Visa to the UK But when he moved to France the night mare had begun, we have all our Documents ready for marriage but he needs to prove that he has some fixed address in Paris at least for one month… Ok, this is not that bad we could wait, but the thing that I already about to terminate my job, I sold my car ,because we decided that I will be moving to France to live with him at the end of Feb , he already registered me in French School there and everything ready BUT French embassy is like very strict in Syria, they have strict regulations not to gave Visas to Young , Single girls and they don’t recognize any engagement or anything expect marriage I already have Valid Schengen Toursim Visa till 24th Feb 2010, but even if I go with it and it will be expired while I am in France how can I stay there? And let’s say I will get other Schengen Visa from other embassy like Italian (its easier than French) and I will have 2 months to stay in France but then ??? when we will apply for marriage and since I am foreigner how long it will take for us to be accepted and to be officially his wife? and once we will apply if it will take long time ,would I have any paper that our documents in the progress and can I come back to my country and take longer visa with this paper? What prefecture or immigration office in France could help me, why I can’t stay with the man of my life and its so difficult, I am so desperate, they told me maybe if we get married in the French consular in Damascus and register our marriage it will be easier, we are trying this option but we didn’t get any answer yet. We are ready for anything , any solution to be together , could anyone tell me any possible solution for me to be at the end of February living in France with my Fiancé? Even if I will need to go back to my country after 2 months to apply for other Visa And when we get married what about CDS? How fast I can get it? To start looking for work? Is there any exceptions? Thanks a lot in advance for your help and sharing with me your ideas

Hello, I am French and since Nicolas Sarkozy is in office, it's been a whole lot harder to do anything when you are a foreigner. My mother who is Belgian and has lived 26 years in France and had two French children (myself and my brother) has applied for French citizenship, which normally takes 6 months to 1 year for European citizens and is still waiting now, after 3 years. It's possible your couple will be subject to investigation before being allowed to marry. You will have to prove that it's not just about getting French papers, that you two truly know and love each other. Keep all records of your visits to the UK, so you can show them. Any pictures of the two of you, with dates. Any travel you went on together, keep records. Collect letters from his friends and family confirming you have met them and are known to them as a couple for a long time. In short anything that shows you are a legitimate couple. STRICTLY abide by the law. If you have to go back to Syria while he sorts out papers, do that. Don't stay illegally in France at any moment because if they find out, they'll never allow you to stay in France again or marry a French citizen. You say you have no visa problem with the UK: I suggest you stay there for a while and have your fiancé visit you at the weekend. Ask him to keep his train tickets. Once you are married, you are married, and that will be the end of your problems. But being allowed to marry may take a while, so brace yourself. As far as I am aware, it is up to the mayor of the city your fiancé and you will marry in to decide whether he believes you're a real couple or not. Just go ahead with the paperwork I don't know if you speak French, but I suggest you learn. I also found this document: it's an expert answering the question of a Frenchman who is planning on marrying a Belarussian. It's in French. If you don't read French, have your fiancé translate it for you:
