Can we make our rings fit better...?
-
without taking them to be sized? My fiance and I bought 18kt gold clad tungsten rings. We are not well off, but the rings are beautiful for what we paid for them. I bought them over the internet, so there was no opportunity to try them on, but we went to walmart and at thier jewelery counter they have the sizing keys, so we went based off of that. Turns out my ring is slightly too big and his is WAY too big. The place we bought them doesn't accept returns, especially since they are engraved. I don't think tungsten can be sized, but even if it could sizing them would destroy the engraving on them. We have tried those plastic things that are supposed to prevent slipping, but the rings are not round, they are flat bands. So those didn't work at all. (Couldn't even get them around the rings). Short of wrapping tape around them (and making them look terrible) i am at a loss as to what to do to make them fit. We can't afford to get new ones, and besides, i dearly love the ones we have. I just want to know if we are doomed to not be able to wear our wedding bands because they slip right off, up until we can save up enough money to get new ones. (LORD knows how long that will take). Any suggestions would be appreciated (and attempted lol) Thanks.

Answer:
if you go to a jewlery counter in the mall some places have small little metal half circles that will fit inside the band and wrap around the band a little bit to make them fit tighter. I couldn't paste a link for you or a picture but go to google and type in "ring resizing ring guard" into the search bar and make sure to click on images and you'll see what im talking about! and they shouldn't cost too much! Hope this helped!!! PS: if they dont have them for you to buy just get some metal strips from a craft/ bead store and DIY with pliers!

Doughnuts should help, and lots of them!
you can wear them around your neck until you can afford new ones or take it to a jewelery counter / store at the mall they should be able to fix them peace

If the above tips won't work out, you could consider wearing it in a different way. Perhaps on a different finger/thumb or from a chain around your neck.

Yes, you just need to take them to a jewellers and have them re-size it. It will cost about $50 a ring.

Just enjoy the money you save by buying them online and try not to loose them.
