• im slovakian woman, my fiancee is palestine man. does anyone know if its possible to get married in syria for us? (because we r from different countries and have different nationalities). if yes how difficult is the procedure and how we can arrange the wedding there? does anyone can help and give advice or have the same situation?

  first of all, your fiance will have to be sure he has registered with the Establishment of Palestinian Refugees in the syrian arab republic. palestinians are not allowed to marry any foreign non-arab person unless they have first acquired permission from the minister of the interior in syria, so first your fiance must be a registered palestinian refugee, then he must apply for permission to marry you from the minister of the interior in syria. while he is doing that, you need to have an HIV/Aids test and secure a copy of the negative results because you must have that before you can marry in syria even if your fiance is able to get permission to marry you. you will also need to have a copy of your birth certificate translated into arabic and approved by the syrian embassy in slovakia. you will also need a photo copy of your passport and a photo copy of your marriage deed, also tranlated into arabic. the marriage deed is the official lawful property agreement which is to be settled upon you fiance from your family and visa versa which is the mainstay of islamic marriage. for further information http://damascus.usembassy.gov/marriage_license.html
