Question for sufferers of depression/anxiety only! When you have anxiety, etc. what are your symptoms?

For me, I usually feel lost inside my head (I know it sounds weird, but that's the only way I can explain it.) I feel disconnected with my external environment and that my head is clouded with thoughts. This tends to make me feel lonely and almost mentally disabled in the sense that I can't focus or achieve motivation. Are these symptoms part of what you go through everyday? What do you go through?

You've put it into words very well.That's how I feel too. The anxiety is horrible as well. I feel like extra energy is trying to escape thru my skin. Sometimes I just wanna scream. I've been trying to find motivation to try to get the anxiety out, but it's a vicious circle. I thank god that my mom and I are so close and we both suffer so we can ***** and moan to each other. I did find some meds that work for me to lessen the disconnected feeling. I've yet to find something for the anxiety that doesn't just make me fall asleep. Good luck you though. Gimme a shout if you need to talk. I know how it is. Sometimes it feels good just to get it all out to someone who knows what the hell you're talking about.

I feel the exact same thing. I can be sitting with a tableful of people at lunch and feel like I'm the only one sitting there, completely entranced in my own thoughts. I feel so lonely and out of reach from everyone else, almost as if I am invisible to them, but I know that I'm not. Its such a sad feeling, but its inevitable. I go through it sometimes without even realizing it. It's happening more frequently lately, but I'm hoping things will cheer up soon. My old friends, knew about my depression and my aniexty, and always knew how to help me through it. My new friends (I'm at a new school) don't know that part of me yet, and thats definitely making it harder on me. Whenever this happens, I try to fight my way out of it -- try to remind myself of happier things, things that don't make me worry or stress or freak out -- but that doesn't always work that well anymore because I'm running out of good memories. That's the only good thing I have left anymore, my memories.

The same as yours but I'm convinced I'm going crazy and I need to go to the bathroom. This usually occurs if I'm taking in too much carbohydrates, sugars and alcohol in my life. Also, not getting enough exercise, fresh air and walking. Usually with lifestyle changes and beliefs about myself changes, I can get rid of anxiety within a month or so. The pharmaceutical industry wants us to believe it's a chemical imbalance and you need their drugs to get out of depression and anxiety. They make millions and millions of dollars on this idea. Except in rare cases, diet, exercise and taking mental care of yourself will effectively arrest depression and anxiety. At the ages of eighteen, twenty-seven and forty-two I had bouts with depression and anxiety. Never took a pill and recovered each time. I need to go for a walk, now. T
