Why do I always feel anxious and not good enough whenever I try to do anything?

I'm 17 and have always had quite low self esteem. I recently began driving lessons, with an instructor I have been doing really well but whenever I go out with my dad I feel so panicky that it affects everything that I've learnt and I always drive terribly, I shake and heat up and forget everything and its completely knocking my confidence. This isn't really a new development though, I've always been quite nervous when trying something new or doing something alone and I just can't deal with the feeling of failure. I don't know whether this is just a part of puberty and chemical imbalances or whether this relates back to having incredibly low self esteem, is it lack of belief in myself that makes me have these anxiety attacks and if so how do I overcome them because its really starting to get me down? :( Thanks,

it prob is a low self esteem problem, i recongnize it cos ive been through terrible feelings of low self worth, i have been getting counselling help for a long time now and that has really helped me i also do alternative therapies when we are very small, if we have a bad experience that really scares us, it can emotionally become a block that we also come up against, so that then everytime we face similar issues, this reaction is repeated, when we are little our emotions are often very overwhelming and strong, so if as a child we never worked through those strong emotions they can show up as we get older in just as strong a way, therapy can really help us to look at those fears, its not always easy, but i believe its worth it, its really working for me, its taking time but my life is gradually changing for the better, hope this helps looking after our emotional health can have such a massive impact on our lives that i really believe its worth addressing
