How can I stop being distracted when I'm doing my homework?

It's hard to study when it's a subject you don't particularly enjoy. I am having the same trouble with algebra right now. I have found that going to the library helps me study because it's quiet and away from the "fun" things I'd like to be doing. If you can dedicate a certain amount of time - say 2 hours four days per week to spend at the library, it might help you. Good luck!

Not do anything at all until you get your home work done. Don't turn the comp on either till it's done.

Try going somewhere to do your homework, like a coffee house, park, library. Go there just to do your homework and tell yourself "im going here to do my homework and I'm not going to leave until im done" If you dont want to go anywhere, create a good environment in your house, work in a room with no internet/TV to distract you. Shut yourself in there until you finish. When your done, reward yourself w/ TV, internet..etc. Good Luck!!

Listen to music while you do your homework. that ALWAYS works for me. It makes homework a little fun something strangely... But as for studying... Idkk.. just try to study.. (I never study for tests, im completely un-able to)

Don't do it at all, Just tell them that you figured the world was going to end. and that there was no point even doing it. that's what i told my teacher, and it worked :] x

What helps me is doing my work at school. Find a place where it's quiet that you can't be easily distracted (like the library). Force yourself to sit down and focus on your work. If you are at home, find a room where it's quiet. Start working for about 10-minutes, take a small break, and do your work again. Sooner or later, you'll complete most or all of your work. If you can, try working most of the way through than focus on the time, when you need a break, take a break, and then get back to it. Sometimes this helps me. If you have a cell phone, shut it off. If your tv's on, shut that off as well. If you can't go to another room. Try to avoid looking at the computer and focus your attention on the work that needs to be done. I hope this helps...

okay.. I hate doing homework too but for me to consintrate (that's not spelled right..idcare) but for me to do homework first I got my dad to get me a desk but I find that I have to have my radio on..low..but on so it's just not silence. Silence is the worst thing when studying because it causes you to think about how quiet it is and then that wondering leads to other wondering and so on.

Is there a place where you can go to study that doesn't have these things? I always got distracted, too, so I went to the library and holed myself up in one of the conference rooms so I couldn't see the computers or hear other people talk. Plus, there was no TV and I had no access to music so I was forced to study instead of doing other stuff. You have to be determined to get things done. Psych yourself up to study! Also, make sure that when you do study, you have plenty of light. You wouldn't want to strain your eyes! LOL
