    You would need to get a prescription from a doctor for any long term effective medicine. It's not a generic, but a common medication is Zoloft. If your depression and stress have no obvious cause, you shouldn't let things go on more than two weeks without seeing a doctor. If there is an obvious cause- death of somebody close to you, relationships breaking up, stress from school or work- then maybe you can wait a while longer and try diet change or breathing exercises.

You need to consult a medical professional. There are plenty of meds out there, but you must find the one that is RIGHT for YOU. It all depends on your chemical make up of the body. If you are looking for a "Natural" cure, I really don't know if there is on. I know that St. John's Wart is used for depression in the natural remedies, and Kava Kava I believe is used for stress.
