Whats your fondest memory of childhood?

  • Whats your fondest memory of childhood ? Mines is of taking our German Sheppard out for his last walk it was a cold winters day snowy and very cold outside. He was just sat in the corner looking sad so I decided to take him out. I don't know why but he seemed so alive that day and I really enjoyed taking him for a walk even though the next day he died because I like to think that I was kind enough bring him that last bit a joy to his life before he passed away. So whats your fondest memory of childhood ?

  • Answer:

It is so much easier to remember the bad things then the good but I do have a few good memories. The time my dad make a homemade kite and flew it so high we could barely see it. The few times he played jump rope and jump board with us was nice. Those were the only times he played with us that didn't cause pain. He used to sing to us in French. He had a wonderful voice. Mom would make a homemade snack for us for after school. Cakes, pies, cobblers, pudding, cookies.

My fondest memory is of the day I discovered freedom. The first eight years of my life were spent in a big city where I was constantly under the watchful eye of my parents. I was never allowed to go anywhere unless I had an adult with me. Then we returned to the country and under the urging of my aunt, my mother finally let me go out on my own. At first it was strange, but within a half an hour I realised that I could go anywhere without having someone else decide where that would be. As I started to explore the lanes and fields around my aunt's farm I found more and more joy at the freedom to hop, skip, and look wherever I wished. Then I started to run and jump with the pure thrill of being free. I never forgot that first taste of freedom and still have fond memories of it, even if it did drive my mother crazy with worry that first time, as it took me three hours to return.

Getting beat up by my mom everyday and being rejected and ignored by everyone at school. Got punched in the face very had by my step dad, 10 times!. I was about 6-11years old in those terms Those are the memories that I remember (I don`t know what fondest mean...) You got a good story there. It`s nice to know you had the time with your dog before he died. Many people tend to treat someone badly and regret after he/she dies.
