Do you know anyone that has ever committed or tried to commit suicide?

This is not un-common. I am very sad to say that every 16 minutes a person in the USA commits suicide. You are also not alone, while knowing someone who committed suicide. At my future high school (I am in middle school) a senior (I think) committed suicide. He was popular, a football player. He had many friends and was going to graduate. Then one night he went home, and he never returned to school. It's a very sad topic. I didn't know him but he lived a good life. I guess, for him, it wasn't that good.

I live in a small town in northern Ontario and when i went to high school i think there was a suicide every year i was in high school. The most traumatizing one for me was in my senior year a child friend committed suicide by hanging himself in his barn.... it was totally un expected and shocked everyone. He was a funny loving teenager and always had a smile on his face... i guess you never know what is going on in anothers head... R.I.P Trevor...

Yep. I've tried to kill myself... several times.

Yep. Someone my mom went to highschool with, who now lives in CA, had his son kill himself. A girl at my friends sisters highschool killed herself... and my great-grandpa shot himself in the head. It's really horrible, isn't it? By the way, I'm really sorry about the person you knew.

I was in a mental Hospital once. At least one kid there had tried to kill him self by taking an entire bottle of medicine. They can seem so normal around people. Then again all crasy people can.

yes it has and it can be a very traumatic and shocking event. It may help you also to seek some counselling. and it is normal for you to feel surreal about it and to have mixed feelings even if you weren't related in anyway.

i thought about killing myself, does that count? ive never seen people commit suicide except in movies, but ive heard of alot of people who do that. though no one in my family is depressed and whatever, im pretty sure someone is going to commit suicide before my generation is over. totally off topic i know. im sorry.

yes about two years ago a boy named Kalob shot himself because his gf broke up with him. It was so sad because we were like really good friends in first and second grade. It is a really difficult situation.

Yeah i almost commited twice.. Both times i had a gun to my head fed up with life and saw no future. Parents yelling and not alot of friends. loner. My dad had a gun downstairs and i took it to my room but couldn't pull the trigger cuz my little brother was in the next room watching tv and i couldn't have him seeing that.. The second time i was depressed about everything because it was all going wrong. Grades are F's, Gf broke up, Parents mad, No future and so i went outside to my backyard and realized the clip wasn't fitting or was jammed into the gun so i went back inside to find something else and got a call from a friend like 15 minutes later (future Gf) and she coached me through the night and i thank her for being there and she's my guardian angel.
