Learner motorbike tips needed for purchase.I have a link in the body of the question.please advise?

I have just studied my learners knowledge test, feel good about it gonna take it this week. Then after you pass you go do a 1-2 day pre learners instruction lesson in Australia. But i want to get a bike and really at this point have no idea of costs etc. From the approved bikes in the link below what do you recommend as a good bike that i can use for a learner then even keep it for my provisionals ,like a good solid bike.costing btween $300-$1500 as a ball park figure.Coz i'm not loaded at the moment. But i'm sure in time i'll upgrade to something alot more expensive eg 5000-15000 bucks.but for now i need a good cheap reliable learner bike, that isn't embarressing either. Also am i reading the below link correctly that as a learner i can choose ANY bike from the list? Not just the 0-260ml? Like you don't have to buy the 0-260ml bike have that for 3 months, before upgrading again for a 261 - 660ml category bike? Coz i can't afford that.Anyway any advice, tips, good websites to pick up these bikes in australia please advise. And a big thankyou in advance. http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/test%E2%80%A6 Additional Details just a last thought would ebay be good to buy a motorbike?prob not right cos u can't inspect it other:I'm 6ft tall ,solid build too,so can handle pretty much any bike.and could go for a road tourer or sports,or sports tourer.

Answer:
A good motorcycle for a beginner like you is probably going to be between 250 and 600cc, though you can go higher than that if you want. With that being said, you said you were looking for a sport bike, tourer, or sport tourer. If that's the case, then maybe I can make some suggestions. First off, I will point out that the link in your question didn't lead to a page. So excuse me if any of these aren't on the site. If you want a sports bike, a common beginners one is the Kawasaki Ninja 250 or 500R, A Honda CBR125R, A BMW, A Suzuki SV650S. Touring bikes aren't really recommended for beginners because of the size of the engines, but if you really want one, I would save it for a second or third bike. Sport tourers are also hard to come by, but an excellent one is the Suzuki from above.
