Which bike is better the 07 yamaha r1 or the 07 gsxr 1000?
-
When asking this I am referring to rideability, speed, and power. I want to know which bike has a better steering dampener. Which bike has a higher top end? Which bike has quicker response time? Which bike has more flickability? What the hp out put of each bike is? What the torque out put of each bike is? I don't care about styling.

Answer:
I think the R1 one is the best large CC bike out there today. See the bikes really are very close to each other in performance. But the R1 inches just a little further and i do mean a little. As far as dampening goes i think it would be easier for you to go the Suzuki.com or Yamaha.com to find the really technically things about each bike but i know that the R1 is the most powerful bike on the market in horsepower and torque and it has a new fly-by -wire throttle system. and the Raven and cherry red colors are awesome. One thing that you have to remember is that these bikes are very close to one another meaning you on a stock R1 could get completely smoked by a better driver on a new gsxr 1000. When on the street you most likely wont ever be able to tell the difference with the 2 extra horsepower the R1 has, but if i was at the track and had a choice between the 2 it would be the R1 no question.

GSXR's are by far the best production bikes on the market for reliability and power! I still ride the bad est GEEZER I think was ever made after crashing my 1989 GSXR 750 at 135mph in Lomita CAL. illegal light to light racing and died for 2.5 minutes at Torrance General and was given 2nd chance at life I purchased a 1990 GSXR 750 slingshot that I stretched 4" in the rear lowered 2" and put a stage 3 racing kit on it and to this day not a single problem 58,000 hard tire burning miles and I ride it every weekend no joke They are the best of the best

Personally I'd go for the R1... but all of that info will be on the net dear.

Wow, your requirements read just like a marketing brochure without the answers! Why would you want to get your steering wet? I prefer my steering dry, thanks. (PSST! Dampening = getting something wet. Damping = inhibiting movement)

Go with the GSXR, DEFINITLY! The R1 may look cool and even be pretty nice. But, if you stood with both bikes in front of you, it would be a no-brainer. The Suzuki (and Honda RR) is far superior as far as quality. HP peaks don't tell the whole story. The entire powerband is more important. If you rode them both, trust me on this, you WOULD take the Suzuki. This is coming from a die-hard Honda guy, so you must listen to me cuz my answer isn't biased. The GSXR is much faster, linear exeleration. Bottom end, all the way through the revs. Better design, bolts & fasteners, ergo's and durablility. Don't screw this one up.

GSXR No Question I have ridden both because my brother has the R1 and my friend has the GSXR. GSXR hands down!!
