Would a motorized bike be as street legal as a regular BIKE?

Low/High beams in Indiana for a dirt bike to become street legal?

  • Im converting my dirtbike into a street legal bike, and I need low and high beams, Im wondering if I can just buy a bunch of LEDS and then only hook up like two thirds of them and have that as my low beams, and then hook the rest of them and have that as my high beams. I am just going to have a small battery and attach it on the bike so im wanting to use LED lights for there low energy usage.

  • Answer:

Check with your local DMV first to see what modifications would be required for your make and model dirtbike to become street legal. In Indiana, at minimum, a street-legal motorcycle should have: • Headlight, tail light and brake light. • Front and rear brakes. • Turn signals. • Horn. • Two mirrors. You may also be required to put street legal tires on the bike. You will have to register, license, and insure the bike.
