Which bike best fits me?

Which bike fits a begginer, suzuki DR-Z 400 sm or a sports bike?

  • I want to get a bike for some short commuting and weekend rides. I don't have experience on sports bikes, aside from a few rides on others bikes. I used to ride my 125 mainly on trail rides, more climbing stuff. But, with gas prices here in Hawai'i topping $4.09/gal, i'd like to get a bike. Plus, my wife finally says yes. So, i'm not sure. The dr-z is nice, a guy I know is selling it for 5 g's, comes with yosh. pipe, jet kit, other stuff. Very clean. or..... ninja 250 for $3,800. or don't waste my money and go cbr 600rr.????

    I've been riding for a while. My best advice is sit on the bike. See how confident you feel on it. Check your budget not just buying the bike, but the insurance on it. The difference in the 250 and the 600 might be a big dent in the pocket when it comes to insurance, tags and title. Good luck, I know you'll have fun!!! I have 3 bikes one is 2006 Ninja 250. It's a fun bike!

yeah, the drz rocks. you can commute and then take it on a trail. i have one in my garage. i barley had any riding exp when i bought it. i have a triumph sprint st sport/tour bike too. the drz is more versatile and the sport bike will cost you more in everything, including speeding tickets :)

Id go for the Dr-Z is got a pipe and they are like 800 bucks for that bike. They get pretty good gas milage from what i know about my friends 2005 drz. But what year is it because that price is a bit up there. The ninja is only a 250 so its kinda up to you. But if you have the cash go for the 600rr.

As for the DR-Z....I can't remember the last time a bike appealed to me like that one does! If I didn't already have a bike I love ('83 GS1100), I could go for that without hesitation.
