Would it be possible to buy a Harley davidson superglide and change the engine to a 535 virago engine?

In theory, anything is possible if your wallet is thick enough. It would be FAR more practical and WAY cheaper to buy the Virago, sell it when the time comes, and buy the H-D bike. The only downside is that you might regret having sold the Virago once you've actually ridden the Harley for a week or two.

Would be easier just to immigrate to The States, get a permit to ride a motorcycle and wham-slam-thank-you-maam you could have the bike of your dreams. If you can't wait for meetings with the ladies that will be solved too, ALL US women LOVE Harley riders. Proven fact, the guy that rides one of those could have sh!t for brains and as ugly as the rear-end of a baboon but that THUMPING just drives their pitter-patter little things a-twitching. Seen it a million times, I swear.

Much of what defines a Harley is the engine. Without it and some other engine stuck in there, you have nothing more than a hermaphrodite. Ages ago a fellow I rode with had a Sportster frame with a Honda CB750 engine. It was fast and reliable like a Honda, but a Harley it wasn't whether you asked the other HD riders or the Jap bike riders. An oddball it was though. Conversely, if you had a big Ninja and removed the 4 cylinder Kawasaki powerhouse and replaced it with a standard Harley engine, you'd have a sport bike that was extremely torquey and easy on gas, but agonizingly slow. And other sport bike riders would ridicule you as would Harley riders. Like the others said, get your riding experience on the Yamaha, put the dings and scratches on it and then in 4 years, get yourself a real Harley. And the odds of you dropping it or dinging it up will be greatly reduced.

Not even with lots of money. The Yammie is a shaftie. Superglides are actually Dyna models - and that means the swing-arm is mounted to the trans. With all the design and fab work, the only benefit you get from starting with a Superglide is a front end and a gas tank.

Go online and check the weights of each bike. the 535 can't pull the H-D well. IF you don't crash or act stupid and draw the attention of the POLICE you can ride whatever you want to illegally, wear a a Full face helmet with the Visor down, keep the muffler noise down (the #1 cause of complaints against bikes) and ride past the Police station at will, they are not LOOKING for YOU. But I have no idea of the local legal penalty. When I bought my Virago 750 new in "81 the buzz was that the engine design rotated backwards from the H-D the shaft problem can be changed by rebuilding the output shaft but ...What's the point, you'll spend a ton of Lbs for the Superglide. more for rework, kill the value of both bikes. WAIT! " A man's dream must exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for? "

Don't do it. Buy a Virago rather than doing or having all that work done.

ask the owners club so go luk that up.

It would be way easier to put a Buell Blast motor in a Sportster frame
