How to choose the right size sports bike?

go check out various dealerships and just ask......it is a salesman's job to answer just such questions, and that is exactly what they are there for.......don't let them pressure you and come in with a little confidence and be clear about what you want and what you need to know.... also, as a cyclist, it always throws me off that people want to call a motorcycle a "bike"....a bike is a mechanical contraption that runs on leg power alone......a motorcycle is totally different.

Go to a dealer. Ask there. Sit in the saddle of all the above mentioned and give em a ride. Choose what you want. And keep on riding.

i just helped my son get a new 2006 cbr600 f4i last week. I will have to say, that thing is way more powerful than i would have thought it would be. And it being fuel injected, it is very docile in traffic also. We bought it at a discount dealership in Tennessee, and got it for about $1800 under msrp. Excellent bike for the money. The cbr600rr has replaced that bike for 2007, but theres still some of the f4i's out there.

If you're light, 150lbs/70kgs or less, you might get similar speed performance out of a smaller engine like the CBR600, Katana, Ninja, or other models in the 600-750 range. However, if you're not racing and grinding it out - just cruising down the highway - the torque and weight from an 899cc or bigger bike may provide better performance against the wind, less vibration, and a smoother ride. The bigger engines also last longer because they are not being worked as hard.

You should spend a bit more cash and get a 750, if you don't mind riding a Suzuki that is. Yes the bike will cost more, but the insurance on a 750 will most likely be cheaper. Also, you get a newer bike with less miles, EFI for better fuel economy, and up-to-date technology.
