Harley Davidson dealers?

How negotiable are Harley Davidson dealers on there new bikes?

  • Are there any discounts to be gotten? Do Shriners Get a discount? I want to buy this harley but would like to get the best deal possible

  • Answer:

nothing is negotiable with harley. they want your money. they charge double for everything. and if you plan on working on it yourself, be prepared to pay double for the special tools that you have to use for it. if your worried about the cost, best to look for another make cause its gonna cost you money.

The only negotiation that worked for me was when signing the final papers. When the manager started adding things up, like prep charges(I honestly didn't even bother to listen), the total started to go up. I don't think I even let him finish. I said "You told me XX thousand dollars on the phone." I pointed at the check on his desk. "There's a check for XX thousand dollars. The banks are closed. Make it work." He found a way. It may be because of this I didn't get any other deal like people talk about, such as different mufflers or a seat. When I mentioned the seat, "We'll sell you a different one", with no suggestions or further help in choosing. The highway pegs had been put on to make it "prettier" on the display stand. It was pointed out that they were usually not included. Discounts don't exist in the HD world, but other deals may, depending on the approach. They do have a line of Shriner's bikes, similar to the Police and Firefighter bikes. Go to the HD website and check them out. I believe you have to prove you are a Shriner to get one.

Firecracker .

Yes there are dealers that will discount bikes. Long-Branch H/D in New Jersey will if your ready to buy. Harley Davidson does make a line specifically for Shriners. They are the same as stock models but available in special colors. Police, Fire, EMS and Shriner bikes are not counted against the dealers inventory allotment and although they are not required to give a discount to any of those groups they often times do. Now is a great time to buy a new H/D. They now have a two year warranty with free scheduled service and also give you a $750. gift certificate to use in the dealership. Sales are a bit slow, so if your serious I would go right now. Play two or three dealers against each other for the best deal!

no discounts...but the best h-d dealer in U.S. is in Chicago. call an ask...... go an pick-up. no discounts but they have the best out the door prices.

In NC some Harley stores sell the bikes at manufacturer list. I know Greensboro does. I don't know the website but you could google for it and they may list the prices for the new bikes.

Well... here is my advise to you. Walk inn there and just mention that you are in between two cruisers. Of course mention what ever model from there and then mention a metric cruiser (just mention that you are getting a good deal on the metric one). Trust me! you will get a deal! I have seen cases where they took off $2000 of the msrp. I know because they did on mine.

Check out the actual dealers close to you first, see what kinda attitude they have then ask about prices and know the MSRP on the bike you have in mind . Some have a 2000$ markup some only have a prep fee etc You should be able to get the MSRP off of HD's main website along with bike specs and the Police/fire/Shriner special editions
