Why doesn't Firefox start up?

Electric Start on my 50cc Moped doesnt always work, why?

• Hello i recently bought a 2008 Jmstar JSD 50QT-13 off an advert and have had problems with the electric start. I have installed a new Carburettor on the bike as this was the only other problem, minus the electric start. When i push the electric start the engine turns over but it simply wont start. On a few occasions the electric start has worked, so this has just left me more confused. The kick start works first time, every time. Could anyone suggest what could be the problem and a possible Solution? im 16 and have limited knowledge so far so please don't be too technical in responses as chances are it will go right over my head, ha-ha, thanks x

  With a Chinese scooter it could be anything from a poor-quality battery to a poor-quality starter motor. First I would check that the battery leads are tight, then move on to checking the earth (-ve) lead is properly earthed to the frame. There should be no corrosion on the leads, and they should be tight. I would then buy a new battery, if the problem is still there, and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't, I would just put up with kick-starting it, or you will end up spending more on it than it's worth. The forums below might help. Join up (it's free) and good luck.
