Where to buy a chain, front and rear sprockets for a suzuki gs500f 2007?
-
I need a front and rear sprocket and a new chain for my 2007 suzuki gs500f. I dont care whether it's online or in a store but can someone point me in the right direction? On the suzuki parts website, i cant find the parts (is the front one called an engine sprocket?) Also, about how much will this cost me? I can put them on myself.

Answer:
Have you tried your local Suzuki Dealer parts department? The website in the link below has most of the replacement parts you will ever need. However, like any Japanese bike, expect some sticker shock when you see the price. About $32 for the rear sprocket About $8.88 for the rear sprocket bolts About $7.90 for the rear sprocket nuts About $20.13 for the front sprocket About $87.46 for the chain. About $156 for the parts. This does not include shipping. Estimate about another $15 to $20 for shipping. To actually do the job right according to the service manual you will pay a little over $200. You can do a job like this yourself. But add about $42.45 for a service manual so you do the job right. This way you won't be back here in a few days asking questions like what are the torque specifications of the fasteners. Or worse yet, you would not torque them at all. Do it right or don't do it at all. But consider this. A service manual is a one time expense that will pay for itself the very first time you use it. With a service manual you won't be forced to ask strangers on the Internet for your maintenance procedures. I find it amazing how much B.S. someone will give here for a measly 2 points. With a service manual you won't need to decide if these maintenance procedures from these strangers on the Internet is accurate or just a bunch of B.S. Even if you don't do all of the work on your bike. You will have a better understanding of what your mechanic is doing to your bike.
