Using a moped is a good way to use less fuel. Not very comfortable. Not nice in the rain. No good for carrying products or passangers. If you would like to save fuel in your van, car or trucks, petrol or diesel, I would recommend you look up www.fuelxfrank.myffi.biz This site tells you about a tablet which is placed in your tank when you are filling up your car, van or whatever. I started using them a short while and in a car that only ever gave me 260-290 miles to a tank full around town and 290-300 miles on a long drive, I am now getting 400miles+ to the tank. Best thing I ever came accross. If you want to know about it look up the web site or e-mail me at frankwoodsflp@eircom .net I will be happy to tell you more about it if you wish. Best of Irish Luck. I don't know what brands are still out there. In 1988 I was riding a Motobecane (French) and it was the best of peds. Beat all comers at my local high school on their Puch, Derbi and a few others. the CVT transmission gets it off the line quickest of any I've ever ridden. Alas none do better than 30-35MPH. Although I did get a radar ticket on my motobecane for 42 MPH in a 30 MPH zone. I do feel the other respondent was more correct in giuding you toward a scooter, like a Vespa. To be legal on a scooter you need a motorcycle license, something not required for a moped in CA and AZ.

I would get a 4 stroke scooter from a major manufacturer, then at least you have some weather protection
