I will be purchasing my first bike in a month or two yet....? I will be purchasing a new bike in a month or two. This is my first bike and i am an unexperienced rider. (i will be obtaining a license and training).I'm going to be looking for a sportbike no greater than 600ccs. Asides that what should i look for in a bike?what are good features to obtain in a bike body and performance wise?keep in mind im a family man with no intention of a superfast bike, just something fun for spring and summer yet with an attractive body.

Answer:
The most important thing to ask yourself is are you buying this bike to enjoy the art of riding or is it morsoe to look cool. If you want to look cool buy one of the bikes in the list from the other answer. If you want to buy a bike you will enjoy riding day or night rain or shine dirt or asphalt buy an enduro. Particularly the r600gs. This bike has enough power to get the adrenaline pumping. Also the riding position is extremely comfortable and was designed for long distance rides. The other great part about this bike is once you get tired of asphault you can simply hop of the road into the dirt. You cannot do this with most other bikes. My first bike was a katana 600. I just recently bought a r1200gs and the difference between the two makes me feel embarrased that I even used to ride the Katana. Being comfortable and being able to do whatever you want with the bike whenever you want to is the whole idea of riding, its the freedom.

Anyone with close to 600cc for a beginner rider with no experience can consider themselves roadkill. Don't get a superbike to learn on. Get yourself a nice learner bike. A learner bike is cheap like $700 cheap. After you have learned to ride and want to upgrade to something a little faster more sporty you can then sell your learner bike for almost as much as you paid for it. Learner bikes hold their value because other smart people who want to learn to ride will want them. Any of the following bikes would be good to learn on. 1. Kawasaki Ninja 250/500 2. Suzuki SV650/SV650S 3. Honda VTR 250 4. Suzuki Katana 600 5. Suzuki GS500F 6. Early 90s F2/F3
