irepocar was the only valuable answer... are you ready for over $2000.00 for some noise??? All HD's since '07 are EFI... means headers, muffler(s), new ECU (race tuner, power commander, thundermax) installation and remapping. This aint your Daddy's hog.

David K is right. I got an 08 FLHX and it would have cost me about 2K to change the pipes and air cleaner.

Just about any aftermarket pipe will be louder than stock. But do the world a favor & don't be some squid, blasting around town, reving up your bike at every light (you'll only look like an idiot, who just got his first bike) For my money, a thunderheader is the best pipe avalible. Good sound, great performance, quality pipe !!

pull the baffles out of the stock pipes....

a SUPERTRAPP 2 into 1 cool and they even performs good , P>S a loud pipe( drag pipe) are good only for (DOOO) drag racing bike, they better perform only when the engine is almost at the top RPM a Vance e Hine s have the same concept of supertrapp just you can't calibrate the sound like the supertrapp. Those ones have a series of inox discs at the tip of the muffler....

Y'know, I hate to sound all preachy--and of course, it's your bike, so your mileage may vary--but I have to tell you that nothing contributes more to the negative stereotype people associate with Harley riders than the ubiquitous obnoxiously-loud Harley. And I'm not alone. The American Motorcyclist Association, in an official position statement, says just about the same thing: "The Association believes that few other factors contribute more to misunderstanding and prejudice against the motorcycling community than excessively noisy motorcycles. A minority, riding loud motorcycles, may leave the impression that all motorcycles are loud." (http://www.amadirectlink.com/legisltn/positions/noise.asp) If you're buying into the whole "loud pipes save lives" argument, I must tell you that in the very same position statement, the AMA goes on to correctly assert that there is not one bit of conclusive evidence, one way or the other, as to whether or not loud pipes prevent motorcycle accidents. I don't need to mention that the single best way to avoid a motorcycle accident is to take an MSF RiderCourse and ride responsibly. If you're out to impress people, know this: the only folks you'll impress by installing obnoxiously-loud pipes on your Harley is (maybe) other Harley riders. Everyone else--especially your neighbors--will look upon you with derision and resentment for shattering the peace with that ear-splitting din. I can absolutely positively assure you that people who do not ride resent the bejeezus out of obnoxiously loud motorcycles. How do I know this? By riding quiet motorcycles for twenty years and having 99% of the people who come up to my bike surprised and impressed that they can talk to me in a normal tone of voice while my engine is running. You may think you're cool with your outrageously-loud pipes, but everyone else thinks you're an @$$-hole. Trust me. Besides, the Superglide is a drop-dead gorgeous bike in its own right, and I think it sounds absolutely terrific right off the showroom floor with stock pipes. Nothing beats that classic Harley "potato-potato," man. What do you need to mess that up for with a set of super-obnoxious loud pipes?

i personally own a 2003 superglide. i also work at a harley davidson dealership and i have a thunder header. it sounds good/deep at idle and gets loud when i give it gas, also the v&h 2 into 1 is a cool pipe but doesnt get as loud as the thunderheader. both pipes perform really well!!!!!!

TECH

I have Vance and Hines 2 into 1 on my HD and like the sound. Straight pipe are too loud and really don't run well without some back pressure. Some people like Thunder Headers. There are a whole bunch of choices. You might try to find another bike that you like the sound and find out the brand.

Whenever you change exhausts from the OERs, you have to rejet the lower carbs. Failing to do so, will cause the bike to stall while idling. That's the main reason why so many Hawley drivers continue to blimp their throttles while idling - to prevent the engine from stalling. Good luck!
