What polish and wax to use after painting motorcycle fairings?

  • okay, so i have recently painted my own motorbike fairings, i have also added 3 coats of clear lacquer and it is now silky smooth after sanding down with 2000 grit wet and dry. i now want to get that amazing mirror finish. what do i need to do? which polish and which wax should i use? should i polish before wax or the other way round? pleas help :) thanks,

Follow the 2000 grit with rubbing compound. And then let is sit for a week. Let the paint finish curing. The majority of solvents in the paint evaporate quickly, but not all. After final curing, use any quality paste wax. Buff it, and buff it again. Which is best is subjective. Look for a high carnuba content. Carnuba is a hard wax - it's what gives that glassy shine.
