How much is a suzuki motorcycle?

Motorcycle Paint Job! I'd like to get a paint job on my 02 suzuki GSXR any idea how much a paint job costs?

  • Id like a really glossy black. So far everyone I've called only works on cars and I don't want some guy doing it in his back yard unless hes got refrences. How much do ya'll think it would run me? I'd like my rims painted as well probably white or gloss black as well. Later, i'd like to airbrush something on but thats another day another dollar I suppose. THANKS!

    I do body and paint work on everything motorcycles to cars to Helicopters. To do something like that I would probably chrage by the hour which runs about $30 an hour plus materials in the location I am in. If you are more towards a major city it usually runs more. But anyway it would probably take about 2 weeks to take it apart sand it paint it sand it buff it and get it back to you. Don't even think about listening to RP He'd let you ruin your bike. Spray bomb don't hold up like automotive paint and if you decide to paint over it one day with an automotive paint it could lift the spray bomb right off because the thinners in automotive paint are so much hotter and you would have a mess.

Check with some custom bike shops, they can point you in the right direction. I suggest not painting the rims, but sending them off tobe powder coated, it will last and not chip off. You will have to take the tires off the rims, but it's so worth it. If you take the parts off yourself, then it will cut the cost alot. Here's a link on one bike painter. Ya may or may not like this answer...... Try painting it yourself ! Fusion paint (from Krylon ) is fantastic on plastic.Yeah, it's a spray can, but with proper preparation, it looks good.Practice on some old crap 1st. Then tape off some areas to see if ya can do stripes/flames/grafics. Have fun ! It'll be all yours & 1 of a kind.

It is not easy making plastics hold paint over the long haul... The paint contracts and expands at a different rate than the plastic body panels, and over time it will look rather ghetto unless you pay a lot of bread for the proper primers and a good painter with skills... But, since you are riding a GIXXER and sound an awful lot like a squid, go ahead and paint the bike black and the rims white because eventually you are gonna lay it down in some sand coming into a corner too hot and destroy the paint anyhow... Unless of course you are too afraid to scratch it or ride that bike the way it's built for and you baby the **** out of it. Put your hand on a rim the next time you ride out for any length of time... You feel that temperature? Think about the little paints feelings if you subject it to that extreme abuse. Like the man said, powder coat is the only way if you are not chroming them or polishing them The paint would have to be redone down the line before you airbrush it because 1) it's gonna look ghetto as I already told you, and 2) it is going to have to be clear-coated again anyway over the graphics and if the paint is older than a couple of years, see #1...
