How do I know if I need a new carberator?

250cc scooter. need to know what a part is called?

  • I think the part in the picture is a fuel tank but not forsure. http://s699.photobucket.com/albums/vv357/zuse1000us/?action=view&current=S5032548.jpg The 2 hoses on the right that are next to each other i need to know where those are supposed to connect to? Do they both connect to the carberator? The one hose on the left is called the input hose, the one on the very right is called the output hose and i dont know what the other middle hose is called because it does not have a label on it.     as you know the bottom one comes from your pump and it looks like one of them goes into your carburettor and the other one seems to be a vaccum pipe... which will only let fuel through when the bike is started.. i think there will be a small diaphram inside that unit which will get moved out of the way by a vaccum allowing fuel to pass by it
