How to make my pocket bike faster?

How come California bans pocket bikes because they r considered cars? Why not make them go on bike lanes?

  • Pocket bikes are those minature motorcycles that go 10-30 mph. They are about 1-3ft tall and come in gas and electric. 1 liter of gas (or charged battery) could get you 45 miles or more. So far I have found only 1 pocket bike that can go to 65 mph. They are meant for riders that are 10 and above (must have good hand eye cordination). I live in Davis California and as you probably know we are developing the famous "flying car" at UCD. We all are considered "hippies" so we try to find a better way of transportation. Now Davis is the biking capital of the world, meaning we promote biking very much. I just need to know why? Anyway thank you for reading this!

  • Answer:

They were banned because they were too loud, didn't follow noise controls, and people were riding them on sidewalks.

Other answers

Most hiking/biking trails around here (Silicon Valley) don't allow motorized anything, probably the same deal. "Motorized" means anything with a motor I believe, even electric motors so the alternatives are probably illegal too, while the popularity of the pocket bikes makes them an easy target.
