Seadoo vs Yamaha: Which is better?

Bajaj Avenger 220cc vs Yamaha Fazer vs Yamaha FZ-16?

  • Hey everybody! So I've been wanting to get a bike for quite some time now, and I've shortlisted my options to the three bikes listed below: Bajaj Avenger Yamaha Fazer Yamaha FZ-16 After doing a little bit of initial research, I've come to know that the Avenger is primarily built for long commutes and for rider's comfort, whereas the latter two are constructed for city drives given their build. Anyway, here's a little information for you guys to work on: 1)I need it to look good, and as is evident all three of them are beautifully built. But which one would you prefer? 2)I need it to be a comfortable ride, for both the rider and more importantly, the pillion. 3)I'll be needing it, primarily for short and sometimes for long commutes. 4)There shouldn't be much of a servicing issue. After having read a few articles and reviews on other websites, I've realized that there's a lot of anti-Bajaj rhetoric out there. Is it true? Is Bajaj really that bad a service provider or are they just stereotyping it based on Bajaj's past performance? 5)Which one of the above three bikes has the best mileage, based on your experience and/or knowledge? 6)I'll need the bike for the long-run, that is, I'll use it as my primary vehicle for traveling for at least the next 2-3 years. 7)Which one of the above would have the best resale value after 2-3 years, assuming all of them would be taken care of accordingly. The place where I'm about to get the bike, the costs are Bajaj Avenger 220cc - 83000 Rs Yamaha Fazer - 85500 Rs Yamaha FZ-16 - 78000 Rs So, overall, based on the above information, if you were to recommend anyone of it, which one would you prefer? Or is there any other bike you would like to add onto the list. I've already discarded Yamaha YZF-R15 because my brother has it. Thank you in advance!

  • Answer:

i have used hero honda passion, bajaj 4s champion, pulsar and FZ-16...passion was the worst performer...so as per my experience i would undoubtedly vote for bajaj avenger if you are not mileage conscious.....i am myself using bajaj pulsar since 2 years and FZ-16 for about one year....for bajaj i must say great performance , good mileage, good parts durability....as far as FZ and fazer are concerned both have same engine just a variation in headlamps and both are just a waste of money....high maintainence ( mono suspension may cost heavy to your pocket as it is not fit for indian roads), poor mileage (35-38 as compared to pulsar which is always above 42), less service centers as well as poor service....and most importantly the parts availability is very less as well as they are costly....after buying yamaha i just felt that i did a big mistake...
