How to explain african art?

How can i explain that my art is representive of an artist?

  • For my art project, we are having to "mimick" an artist or a movement. For instance, if an artist likes to paint everything red then i have to make a painting using red, or if i make a collage about the renaissance then i'll have to explain how my collage represents the renaisssance. But the hard part is idk how to explain how my art represents that artist. any suggestions?

  • Answer:

Say a lot of the same thing in different ways. Also say a lot of unnecessary things. This is the secret to writing about your artwork.

My art represents such and such artist because I use the same coloring as they do, or my technique is the the same as that artist because of the brush stokes I use. Or my art is the same because of the subject matter I use . There are many ways if you just stop to think of them.
