Does anyone have any good art portfolio ideas?

GCSE Art - Can anyone help me with ideas for an art scrapbook?

  • I do Art for GCSE and we're currently starting our fine art project.. alongside this we have to complete a scrapbook.. I've done a few things for this but I need a few more cool ideas.. can anyone help? Main themes to focus on are the environment, natural form, manmade form and human form. Thank you =]

    Your scrapbook needs to have continuity, so you need to build upon the things you have already done. Take one of your pages and write down all the ideas that come to you when you look at it. Take one of those ideas and make it concrete, using a different medium. A scrapbook of random ideas will not be as successful as one with a flow between the ideas and the media. Trust me, I have experience - your own research will be best.

Amy, instead of asking the same question over and over, try looking in the Y!A archives, in the Discover section. This kind of question comes up regularly, so there are LOTS of ideas there! And it's so much easier than posting and waiting, and then only getting 4-5 answers, none of which you can use. You might also check out the Y!A Community Guidelines -- there's a link to them on the bottom of each page. They specifically ask people not to post a question repeatedly.

if you need to do anything on artists, try looking at Andy Goldsworthy. i had natural form as one of my gcse topics, and we mostly looked at shells/insects/skeletal structures etc.. good luck :)

hands, in different positions make up of something like stone, twigs, leaves. not altogether, but do you get what i mean? i did an entire scrapbook on hands in different positions, reflecting different moods, with different materials. (Y)

Interiors outside space, choose somewhere you enjoy and like and you can basically do anything you like as long as you've shown how you developed your idea and got there. Yey i did interior. You could collect fabric, bits of leaves flowers, photos of fruit to show how you 'researched' it.
