How do i blend pictures together on Google Picasa?

  • how do i blend pictures on google picassa to make it look like i have one big picture instead of two seperate pictures?

  • Answer:

Don't know how to do this in Picasa but here's a general idea on how to do it in (almost any) Photo editor like Paint.Net (free), PhotoShop or PhotoPlus. First open both of the images with your favorite editor. Next open another instance of the editor and create a new workspace (1280 x 1024 or however large you want it). Then select the whole image, copy and paste it into the new workspace using the "new layer" option and resize it to your liking (if needed) then do the same thing with the other one. Once you are done sizing the images, save it as a PNG or JPG (I like using PNG but use whatever one you want). I only use Picasa for organization purposes and I have found its editing tools to be severely lacking and geared for very basic novice users. Note when you save images with more than one layer (in JPG, PNG or other format) you will get a "Image will be flattened" warning, ignore it. That only means you will no longer be able to work with the different layers as individual layers as they are now part of the whole. If you want to be able to continue working with the images at a later time you will have to save it as the "editors" file. .pdn with Paint.Net, and I forget what Adobe calls theirs. But doing so, you will not be able to view it with anything else besides the editor so once you are done with it, you have to save it as a standard format. Oh, here's the link to Paint.NET in case you need it, http://www.getpaint.net/ If you want to see an example of what I am talking about see the image I made over here, http://xgatech.com/uploads/photos/408.jpg and see if that is what you want to do (or something similar).
