What is the cultural frame in art?

Would an art print look bad without a frame?

  • I am going to be renting an apartment and want to decorate my walls cheaply and without damaging them. I was just going to get posters but I have seen some "art prints" online that I really like. I don't know much about art so I'm sorry if this is a stupid question haha. Can I hang the art prints just like I would hang a poster (sticky tack or those 3m poster strips) or will they look bad without being framed and properly mounted on the wall?

  • Answer:

Honestly the best type of art is framed. Online sites can frame it for you for a cheaper price. I am an art collector and I use fineartamerica.com Here, I just bought this print. http://fineartamerica.com/featured/2-buddha-mike-grubb.html I would frame it! check out what i suggested. best of luck!

They would look better framed. Go to Walmart, check out their poster/picture frames. They're not very expensive, come in large sizes or go online to find frames you put together yourself. I use the metal ones and are very inexpensive to use Mats: http://www.wholesalematboards.com/ Meta frames you put together yourself: http://www.framesbymail.com/metal/1/15/c/price_asc You can find other online places too.
