How much should I charge for my prints?

How much should I charge for my art prints?

  • I plan to print limited additions of my original paintings. The sizes of my original paintings are 30"x40". Print size being maybe...20"x30". Is there a simple formula to figure the price of a single print? Should the price of your original be higher if you only make limited additions prints?

  • Answer:

I would say your original should be more if you only make a limited few copies. As for figuring out a single price - what would sell bulk for figure that up and divide by how many are in the bulk and that would be your single price. hope it helps

Other unknown artists selling on forums are typically charging 20-50 bucks for prints about half that size. I'd say depending on the quality of your prints, adding 20 to 50 bucks to that shouldn't be unreasonable. If you can charge more, of course, do.

Enough to cover your costs and if you are an established artist maybe ask a gallery how much they recommend you charge.

I suggest you visit the link below to see how much artworks are priced these days. If your art is sellable, you might want to look at a price of US$100 and higher for reproduced prints.
