How to get artwork in gallery?

How do you get your artwork in to a gallery, and is it possible to copyright a specific art technique and?

  You get your artwork in a gallery (for sale as opposed to a museum) by taking the artwork to the owner or manager of the gallery and convincing them to show it. You select the galleries to go to by looking at your art and at what the gallery is currently showing and picking those that seem at least likely - you don't take pictures of blue bonnets in a field to places showing abstract or newer modern art and you don't take abstract art to places showing photorealism. And why should you care if your style has been used before - if you have any skill you are going to work in various styles over the years and you are going to be influenced by various artists like everybody else. And you can't copyright style, you can only be so individualistic that anyone who works in the same style is said to be copying you.
