They have an entirely different way of working and they can turn certain computer games into genuine three dimensional experiences, where your left eye sees the image at a different angle than the right eye. When your mind puts the two different images together, it shows up as a three dimensional image, similar to a hologram. You CAN'T make them. The shutter effect has to operate by making each lense alternate between clear and opaque at the rate of 50 times per second.
