What should I do after foundation diploma in art and design?

Help with portfolio for Art Foundation Course pleaseee?

  • hey guys, just wondered if anyone has done this course - the btec national diploma in foundation art and design?ive applied for it and am now stuck on what to do for my portfolio? i didnt do art a-level so am going to need to have some impressive stuff to show the tutors!i have already included some life drawing and some drawings and posters of things i enjoy such as jewellery and the beach. How many pieces do I need do you think?Any help would be very much appreciated.Thanks sooo much xxxxx

    im just finishing my foundation course now at CSM. in short, try to show them as much as possible of different media that u can do. life drawings, photography, screenprints, graphic design, anything that you have done and interests you yourself; by showing them a wide range of work you can show them that you are interested in taking their foundation course; avoid showing them just graphics or whatever because they'll just think there's no point for you to take the foundation! in the portfolio, if it's an A1, it'll be good to have about 20 portfolio sheets, avoid bringing 3d work unless absolute necessary. (just take photos, sometimes it'll look even better on photo than the actual thing :P) finally, sketchbooks and scrapbooks are great in showing your development of ideas. i hope that helps, and good luck!

I have no detailed clue, but I would say to include a digital painting if possible, completely digital. As art is moving in that direction.
