"clocks, gears, locks and keys" Sounds very Steampunk to me. Some well known Steampunk style artists: Eric Freitas. Michigan-based artists who incorporates clocks into most of his works. Mike marries real insect specimens with antique watch parts: "My insect sculptures are not intended to function, but to slyly suggest that they could." Pierre Matter Works mostly with scrap metals and recyled objects using welders, plasma cutters, laser cutters and grinders to shape and sculpt. Kazuhiko Nakamura Based in Kawasaki City, Japan. Creates Steampunk style half human/half machine motifs. "I am influenced by surrealism and Cyberpunk and I'm drawn to 19th century machine designs." Nozomu Shibata: Based in Aichi, Japan. Creates amazing biomechanical sculptures. "My admiration is for mechanical objects that have a heartbeat rather than for modern digital culture." Daniel Proulx: Montreal-based artist who was always intereste din, "Imaginary fantasy worlds such as Dungeons and Dragons, The Lord of the Rings and Science Fiction in general." These remain an inspiration, as well as his facination with mixing organic and mechanical shapes, and contrasting futuristic with ancient designs.
