Architecture portfolio? HELP?

Which Pre-College Summer Art Program will help me best--Pratt, SCAD, or InnerSpark?

  • I am currently a high school junior, and I'd like to major in animation and possibly double major with architecture. This past summer, I attended UCLA's US Performing Arts Animation Camp, but I feel that one week is just not enough for me to develop my skills. Although UCLA's was an amazing experience, I feel like it did not help my portfolio much at all (which is practically empty!). I really want to develop my portfolio. I have limited background in art, so I'm really interested in a pre-college art program. Plus, I do intend on applying to art schools. HELP ME DECIDE!!

  • Answer:

I would probably pick Pratt. They are the best of the 3 for the actual undergrad/grad student programs, I'd guess their pre college is probably best also? I'm not sure exactly what the format is though- ie a bunch of different classes, or study mainly 1 course? As long as you aren't taking just one class and could get a decent variety of work for your portfolio then go to Pratt. But you shouldn't just put assignment type work into your portfolio, its really boring:)
