How to do Graffiti art?

Where you live (what country) will make a difference to what pens you will find it easy to get hold of. if you Desperately want to use markers in your black book you cant go wrong with TOUCH MARKERS http://www.graphotism.com/shopDetailList.asp?sid=1073 for outlines and use a posca paint for block fills http://www.artifolk.co.uk/catalog/products/craft_paint/uni_posca_poster_paint_marker_pens.htm Me and most of my friends don’t use marker pens in our sketch books we use a technical pencil…..when you first star you will be making a lot of mistakes and a rubber is much cheaper then a new black book. So my first bit of advice would be get a A4 black book and a light weight plastic technical pencil. After you got the black book and pencil buy a good book on graffiti like Graffiti world http://www.amazon.co.uk/Graffiti-World-Street-Continents-Graphics/dp/0500511705/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1199227961&sr=8-1 this will teach you a little about different styles such as EURO and north American wild style. The way people draw graffiti letters is very different all over the world…..South America has a very distinctive style to North America and the same can be said about countries in Europe. Paper? Okay then... First get some prisma color paint markers. They are the highest quality and the best you can get. Buy them in whatever color scheme you like. I, personally, would buy the set becuase often times (all the time) its cheaper than buying markers individually. Also, there are a few sets that have marker tips on each side of the marker. Mine have a .01 cm tip on one side and a 1 mm tip on the other which helps get fine lines and detail drawings. I would also recommend getting their set called "French greys" because you can layer them with any color to get shaded colors (and it doesn't really detract from the chroma) and they look awesome on their own too (even when not mixed with anything). Use bristol board (vellum) becuase it will hold the ink exactly where you put it. Good luck! Try technical pens too but I don't know if I've ever seen them come in color.

For a beginner you can go to a store like office depot and get Sharpie's King Size markers or the Magnum, you can even get the Marks-A-Lot marker. But when you want some better markers like OTR's you can try going to a swap meet or if you can order them online go to http://oinkartltd.com/ they have some good stuff. Hope I help, keep writing.
