What is digital media arts?

What is the difference between digital arts, visual arts, media arts, and animation?

  • Answer:

Subject to anybody's variations in name college departments, etc. digital arts - is working in art on computers whether the result looks like painting or produces 3D looking images or CAD files for making sculptures. visual arts - is working visually - painting, sculpture, etching, drawing, and so on. media arts - usually means these days working in advertising, magazines, and television - although it could mean focusing on various kinds of media. animation - is making sequences of images that appear to be moving when presented in rapid succession. The art of animation is knowing how much each image has to differ from the previous to make the movement work. The images can be hand painted, drawn, computer generated, etc. and for short runs can be printed on cards or stiff paper so that a flip book is made, but usually they are photographed or assembled digitally and made into a video or movie. http://www.ehow.com/video_2373714_flip-book-animation-works.html
