What exactly is pop art?

What would you do to make a pic seem more pop-art-like (of Michael Jackson). What pic of Michael would you use

• I was thinking about doing one with him on one of his signature moves, where he is standing on his toes, you know, white socks, fedora, glove and all? How should i go about doing this? this is not a peice of art i am selling or anything just for an assighment (to make a pop art drawing) Should i be like Andy Warhol and have him repeated, or what? What could i do to make it pop-arty if i just use 1 picture of him not repeated? And maybe do you think i should use the pic of him on his toes or do you suggest something else? Got this idea because i love Michael and his music and if i did do an Andy warhol theme it would be somewhat like his repeated picture of Marlyn (sp?) Monroe, an icon just like Michael.
