How do you make paper look aged with tea??

  You can soak it in tea water. I myself have done this, use several bags of tea (i used Lipton and had to use alot to get the tea strong) or use a naturally strong tea. the longer you soak it the darker the "tan" aged color will be.My best took at least a week to soak. If you use a stack of paper and put each one individually so they at least get a coat of tea water on them it comes out in an aged book look where the edges have aged more then the rest of the page, though it still discolors the entire sheet. If you really want to be creative with your tea paper you can take a lighter or candle ( I prefer a lighter) and burn the edges, this can be a pain though to control be somewhere you can blow it out and not burn anything else or start a fire! usually you get the paper lit and blow it out right away! You can also hold the lighter or candle to the underside of the paper until it browns the top leaving a spot on the paper, just don't let it burn through!It is a neat effect and makes the paper look older. Ripping the edges before you soak it gives a neat aged effect and you can decide to rip or fray it a little or alot.
