How to make paper stick to a canvas?

I cant really afford to buy an expensive painting for my living room to hang up on the wall, so i decided to buy some matching design paper that matches my living room decor and bought a canvas for it. I want to glue the papers on the canvas and make it glossy. I want to make it look good and kind of professional. What should i get, what Type of glue or gloss?

You can get this material brand called Golden Mediums. It comes in a variety of textures: glossy matte, satin, etc. Art supply stores will carry it in their painting sections.
