Had a picture question?

Question about picture enlargement and poster prints?

• I need to make a poster but it doesn't necessarily need to be on poster paper - it can even be regular printer paper. But it needs to be about 12" x 36". I have the picture I want but of course I can't print it in that size. The picture itself is quite large though (it's a scan from a artbook). So I'm wondering if it would be possible to have the picture blown up to that size and keep the quality of the picture? And if so, where can it be done? I've found multiple free sites that blow photos up for you and then you print them on multiple sheets of paper that make up the one, but I don't want the lines from the paper to show. Actually, it can't. It MUST look like one picture. If it is not possible or just won't work out, can anyone recommend any other options? I would like to try and avoid custom poster sites because they are quite expensive and I really don't trust doing such a thing online. I'd rather talk to someone in person who can get it right. I've actually tried one but it said that it may be blurry or pixelated because I made it bigger for the poster. That part worries me as well. Thank you for your help!
